This Privacy Policy describes how Chronicles of Shadow (the "App", package com.airpg.story), including its Arcane Clash multiplayer module, collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Account information (Google Sign-In)
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. This is used solely to identify your account and save your progress across devices. Guest users are assigned an anonymous identifier.
Gameplay & progress data
Your in-game progress (hero name, class, level, XP, gold, trophies, achievements, inventory, and story history) is stored on your device and synced to Google Firebase Firestore to enable cross-device saves, leaderboards, and multiplayer features.
Multiplayer data (Arcane Clash)
When you play Arcane Clash or party story mode, your username, profile picture choice, trophy count, and match actions are written to shared Firestore rooms so other players can see them in real time. This data is deleted when match rooms expire.
Story content
The choices you make in story mode are sent to our AI generation proxy (hosted on Vercel) to produce the next scene. Prompts are transmitted over HTTPS and are not stored after the response is returned.
Game progress is stored locally via AsyncStorage and synced to Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud). All Firestore data is protected by security rules that ensure each user can only read and write their own data. Multiplayer room data is shared by design and automatically expires. Story generation requests are processed by our Vercel-hosted proxy and are not logged or retained.
Google Firebase — We use Firebase Authentication (to verify your identity) and Firestore (to store game saves, leaderboards, and multiplayer rooms). See Firebase Privacy.
Google AdMob — We display ads through Google AdMob to fund the free service. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Sign-In — Authentication is handled by Google. We receive only the profile fields listed in Section 1.
OpenRouter / AI Story Engine — Story scenes are generated by a large language model routed through OpenRouter via our secure Vercel proxy. Prompts are transmitted over HTTPS and are not stored after the response is returned.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
You may at any time:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
